Evelyn "Booney" Jones Reed
Booney founded W G Ministries Theatrical Productions in 2007.
"Booney" was born in Flagstaff, AZ. The tenth child to her late parents, Anthony and Delia Jones. She is the mother of two. And the grandmother of three. Adopted daughter of Morris and Mary F. Taylor. And the wife of Mr. Howard Reed.
Booney is the product of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School and earned her degree in Acting/Dance/Mime from UTA "Arlington, TX".
Booney is no stranger to pen and paper. She has written such plays as: "I Came By Your House", "A Dead Church", "Angels", "Beware of Creeps", "Hallelujah He Reigns", "Go Get Your Life Back", "Children of Yesterday & Today", "My Name Is Legion", "The Ten Commandments", "God's Final Judgment", "Dysfunctional Family", "What In Hell Do You Want?", "When Hell Is A Place Called Home", “Seven Women, One Man” and the two newest to come in 2012 "When Heaven Weeps" and “Killing Love”.
In the (80's) Booney has performed on the stages of Jubilee Theater, Hip Hop Theater, Casa Manana, modeled for L'Charles of Dallas. Also in the 80's Booney traveled with two drama groups which performed in various black college campuses through-out Texas & Louisiana, The Sojourner Truth Players and Shadows of Arlington. She served as choir director for nine years for the Sweet Home Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. R. W. Bivens, Sr.
In the (90's) Booney begin to develop her passion and craft for writing and directing. Her first major production was "Hallelujah He Reigns", with the RSBC Drama Ministry under the leadership of Rev. R. W. Emerson, Jr. This three hour dramatic-musical featured a cast of 75. Since the mid-nineties until now Booney has written over 33 pieces of original pieces of work including poems, scripts, monologs and six original songs. "One More Chance", "What Does It Take", "When Hell Is A Place Called Home", "Shacking Up Isn't God's Best For You", “My Name is Jimmy", "Father".
Booney is a member at the Great Commission Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Douglas E. Brown, Sr. Pastor.
